Diabetes Makes its mark again

Sundays nights are usually the time for my wife and I to settle down get the kids situated for bed and then watch a few of the TV shows we like to watch. We proceeded to watch 2 of our favorites that air on HBO: True Blood & Hung. The last of the regular shows that we watch on Sunday nights is one that my wife actually got me into and now I am hooked: Army Wives. So the reason for me even mentioning this on this blog is, obviously because it is somehow related to Diabetes. Well, this past episode of Army wives was just that.

I loved the episode. I’m thrilled they are bringing diabetes into the storyline. I knew also where they were going and I couldn’t believe it.
I have been that upset at my diabetes. For me, it came from the fear of the unknown. When first diagnosed, all I knew was that people go blind and lose limbs from it. I also knew, without anyone telling me, that life as I knew it was over. I know now that It’s not a death sentence but those first few weeks, heck the first year, was tough.
I can’t wait to see where they go next with this. I hope I’m not dissappointed. I think it could be a really great way to reach lots of people and really educate.

Chris and molly, where can i see army wives? I watch hung all the time and am looking ofrward ot the restart of Flight of Concords.

Rick,
Army Wives is on Lifetime. I’m not sure when it’s on where you live but here in Ohio, it’s on at 10pm on Sunday nights.
