Has any one out there been diagnosed with both conditions and if so how did they handle it. After diagnosed with celiac disease and if you are a type 1 diabetic did your blood sugars go up after your gut healed. How did you handle it
I have been type 1 for 30+ years. I was diagnosed with Celiac about 2 months ago. Still learning all about it. Have suffered with symptoms for a long long time. I have been missed diagnosed several times. It is so nice to finally find out what is wrong and be able to do something about it. The gluten free diet was tough at first but I am figuring it out slowly but surely. I am starting to feel sooooooooo much better it is unbelievable. It is worth not eating the gluten just to finally feel better. I haven’t noticed much of a change in my BG yet. I am not fully healed I still have some gut issues but am hoping they are going to get better with time. THat is what my gasto tells me anyway.
