Does anyone else have diabetic nurapathy? I’ve had for about a yr. now and over the past 7 seven it’s seems to be getting worse. Anyone know of anything that will help ease the pain and discomfort?
I don't have it but have read including a recent article by Dr. Sanjay Gupta @ CNN.com that many people have found medical marijuana to be very effective for treating neuropathy. The article (I am not a big internet video watcher but can't find the article right now...) mentioned that the science "proving" that weed is bad for you tends to be biased due to some problems with research in the US being heavily biased against finding benefits because it's controlled by an anti-marijuana organization. He cited (or mentioned might be a better word, maybe the video goes into more detail?) studies done outside of the US restrictions that have shown pretty clear benefits to it. Depending on where you live, it may be worth exploring but, it's probably not worth going to jail for if it's still illegal? I guess they have legalized it in Illinois but it seems to be very strictly regulated, unlike California, which is the other place I've visited where that's in effect.
I have neuropathy keeping my bg as controlled as possible helps me. There is a neuropathy group here where you might be able to find some help.
I have some neuropathy. Again excellent blood sugar control is the best treatment for it. When I start to fall off the wagon, my feet are the first indicators. Also exercise is very helpful, especially walking, to get the blood circulating to where its needed most.
Thank u for replying back. I have it thru my whole body. No matter what I do it hurts 24/7 even with controlled bs. I take so many drugs now that my dr prescribed it helps some. Weed does help some. All I can say is I wish I would have payed more att.
Have you had your Vitamin D level checked? Vitamin D deficiency has a variety of symptoms including widespread pain. I was severely Vitamin D deficient. When I started taking a supplemdnt and brought my level to within the normal range, many of my different pains went away (I thought it had been Fibro Myalgia). I guess the point I’m trying to make is, it might be worth exploring other causes to your pain besides just diabetes.
Yes I’ve had many tests done. But thank u for the reply
Here is the Mayo Clinic page on neuropathy....

I have symptoms of neuropathy like tingling... they get worse when my bg fluctuates or if I drink wine sometimes, usually it is just food and insulin. I went to a new podiatrist who thinks I don't have it because I have feeling in my feet. She thinks something else is going on neurologically. I also had injuries x3 which caused some nerve damage, so I'm not really sure what is going on. I read on another site that vitamin b12 helps neuropathy symptoms, not sure if it helps the pain. I had been supplementing that and found my levels were too high, so I stopped. My tingling got worse then. High levels of b12 can cause liver damage so I'm not sure what to do, maybe take it every other day. Some people get relief from anti depressants and gabapentin. I hope you figure out a way to get relief. I think tight bg control will help a great deal to stop the progression at the least.
I would try to lower your a1c to 6 or below.
