I think it really depends on what you use your doctor for. If you depend on them to help with adjusting basals/bolus ratios etc, then it would seem to be helpful to them. My doctor does not download Dexcom, but a few times I brought in printouts.
My dr generally only downloads pump and meter BGs, and is primarily looking for lows, and comments on my total basal/bolus percentage. She is one that believes in the 50-50 rule.
But I ignore that, and manage any adjustments to my rates on my own. I don't expect her input on changes, unless I ask her about specific situations, and provide the logs/details to work with.
When tweaking my rates, I definitely look at the dexcom data for guidance. I like the charts/stats by hour, over 1-3 weeks - checking the avg, high, low, deviation. Also use hourly data to compare consecutive weeks after pump rate changes have been made, to help confirm if the changes were effective. The 'success report', set to weekly or monthly can also be helpful.
