I’m really happy (and proud) about my latest A1C number… 5.6, down 1.5 points in about 2 1/2 months! I feel like I’m doing much better overall, but I’m still going through a daily roller coaster with my numbers: fasting over 100, then low 60s before lunch, only to shoot back up in the 180s at dinner. I’m waiting (not terribly patiently) to see an endo (first visit, haven’t seen one since 1997 – several moves, denial, laziness, etc.), but my September appointment was bumped to the end of November, and my GP admits he’s at his limits.
So I wait. And I deal with the craziness of school, and of dissertating, and of having projects fall into my lap, and job search for an eventual faculty position.
Some days I don’t even think about it, and some days I chafe under the burden of having to remember eating schedules, food lists, and meds on top of the already stressful life of grad school.
Sigh… life goes on…
Well done Michelle, your HBA1C is excellent, you have every reason to be proud of yourself!!
Great A1c. I was in the same situation as you with the Endo. I just saw mine for the first time in too many years to count. I am so glad that I did. I can tell it is going to be a great change for me. Good luck on your visit and keep up the great work.
Way to go on getting that A1C down!!
