I normally rotate all of my supplies. However, I just came across a few boxes of test strips that expired in early 2012... 1 box (100) expired in January, and 3 boxes (50) expired in February. They are the old Freestyle Lite strips.
I became upset with myself for even letting this happen. I immediately broke open the January 2012 box and have been using those... one can of 50 in my bedside meter, one in my car meter. So far, it doesn't seem like they're inaccurate.
I keep all of my supplies in a closet, it's pretty cool inside, no sunlight. I was diagnosed in 2008 and this has never happened before. Somehow I overlooked these few boxes. I feel horrible having to toss them.
Has anyone ever used expired strips before?
