Finally, back on track (yet again)!

Aaah, I am back on track! A little rollercoaster-y this morning but otherwise today has been awesome. I love having time off work/school, I swear it makes control so much easier! Too bad I can’t just skip this whole “career” phase and retire right now!

Now I just need to figure out how to keep this up when I get back to the grind in about three weeks. That’s always the challenge. I get decent control and then get way too busy and/or stressed and slowly things get out of whack until I finally get fed up and reign it back in when I’m less busy/stressed. I need to figure out how to have a balance of real life while still having time to pay full attention to diabetes every day.

7:35 - 3.2 (58 mg/dl)
8:26 - 5.2 (94 mg/dl)
10:25 - 11.9 (214 mg/dl)
11:53 - 2.7 (49 mg/dl)
12:59 - 4.6 (83 mg/dl)
3:09 - 5.6 (101 mg/dl)
5:33 - 4.7 (85 mg/dl)
6:16 - 6.7 (121 mg/dl)
7:16 - 6.4 (115 mg/dl)
8:51 - 5.7 (103 mg/dl)
10:29 - 5.3 (95 mg/d)

That is great! If stress is really such a big factor, it really makes you wonder whether working on some stress management techniques might not have some real benefit.

Hmm, that’s actually a good idea. People have suggested I try yoga or meditation classes before to help with stress (and blood pressure, too, since mine is borderline high sometimes). I’ve become better at managing stress over the years but I definitely do get stressed out easily. Not sure that’s the only factor (busyness, i.e., not having “time” for things like careful eating and reviewing logs each day) also make a difference. But maybe stress management might help with time management, too!
