Does anyone know how to leval out blood sugars through those couple of annoying pms days… or do i just have to suffer it through for a day or so haha
Hmm… I don’t know. it happens to DD before and during her AF. We just do the best we can. I am not sure if anyone else has any tricks.
If you were on a pump, you could make tiny incremental adjustments to your basal insulin. Since you’re on shots, I don’t know what to suggest other than talking to your doctor about maybe increasing your long-acting insulin dosage to counteract the elevated sugars during those days. Definitely test for ketones during PMS if you’re running higher numbers.

Sorry, babe. I don’t suffer that any longer due to artificial means. Yeah!!! You know, though, I never really noticed if I responded bit**ier during that time. Good point to bring out.
Let me know!

that sounds like a good plan Melissa, lately i’ve been so off and irregular it’s hard to catch those days - might have to switch to a higher estrogen dose of BC. This gives me only another reason to go on the pump I suppose
Ketones and PMS tend to go hand in hand I have no idea why even my BG numbers are not that bad. My BG jumps right at ovulation for about 2 days then calms down until full PMS about 10 days later. The pump has helped but I am still working on it. I use almost 75% more insulin during that time and every month I wait for the low BG to put everything back.
I would track it.That is what I did and it does help. You know when to start increasing your dose and when your likely to go low and need an adjustment back down. It tales some time but after about 3 months you will start to see real information that will help you adjust. You can talk to your doc about safe insulin increases since your on shots and test more because your short acting is not likely to have the same action curve either.
be well and be loved
