Hey - have you guys heard of this program? We just went in for a pumping class at Children’s Hospital and the rep from OmniPod was there. We started talking costs and I was saying how my prescription cost for Free Style strips has double since we started using the pod. She pulls out this card and says call this number.

Free Style will pay for the first $50 of your copay on their strips. All you have to do is call the number, they send you a card to hand to your pharmacy and that’s it. No cost, I’m sure I’ll get a milion emails from them but I can handle that! They didn’t ask how much my copay, what my insurance information - they are just going to pay the first $50. I’m thrilled! I still have to pay $90 a month but hey - everything helps!

I dont understand how this works could you msg me and let me know . is it their freestyle program card ? I dont understand please msg me I know someone who can use this , just let me know and I will get in touch with them and let them know .

i get my strips through edgepark, (via mail) can I use this through their pharmacy?

Yes. I’m not sure if they’ll submit the claim for you as “secondary” insurance, but you can do it yourself. You need a claim form plus copies of the receipts from EdgePark (or your pharmacy) and a FreeStyle Promise membership card. You just complete the form and mail it in along with your membership card and copies of the receipts.

I just completed and mailed my first claim today. The claim form says that I’ll get a check and coupons for future purchases (and my membership card back) within 10-14 days.

I was told by the rep on the phone that I just need to show the pharmacy the card and they would deduct then. I JUST filled my strips so I guess next month I will try it out and see if it is easy to use. I’ve never done mail order so I’m not sure how that would work. The rep was really nice though and there was no pressure to buy anything (I guess because I already own their meter).

You can still mail in a claim to FreeStyle. That’s what I did. I purchased the strips in January and June and just sent in the claim. You need a receipt to show what you paid for the test strips and a claim form. FreeStyle sends you the form upon request, which is annoying. Why not have it on the website?

Next time, you can show your pharmacist the FreeStyle Promise membership card and they can submit a secondary claim to FreeStyle. The two mail order pharmacies that I’ve used do not file secondary claims under any circumstances, which is why I had to mail mine in.

FWIW, on the back of my membership card it says that the program runs through December 31, 2009. My guess is that they’ll extend it but thought I’d share that just in case.

I use this program,it’s great! Also with this program you can talk to a CDE at no charge, which I’ve used several times They are always very nice and informative!

I use this program and love the savings!

What about for folks without insurance? I’ve been through a TON of testers based on the “flavor of the year” based on what my local community health center can negotiate with reps or what programs are available. Freestyle was my favorite because of the ability to download.

yeah, i have the same card. mine is valid until june 30, 2010. i think it has something to do with when you sign up…
