I’m taking a pump break (again) and have decided to try Levemir vs Lantus because of how much weight I gained taking Lantus last summer. However, my bs seem to be pretty high while on Levemir. Is this common? Does Levemir not work for everyone? I’ve almost doubled the basal I was using on my pump. I’m frustrated with my pump and now with shots!!! AAAHHHHHH
Out of curiosity and for context, which pump was it and which infusion sets were you using? Why did you decide to try going back to MDI?
I’m also curious what your conversations with your medical team about this were like? 
how many days on levemir?
It’s normal to have to increase insulin roughly 20% doing MDI, vs pumping so you can subtract that from your increase when thinking about the discrepancy.
Your body may not be reacting to levemir in the same manner as whatever rapid you used in your pump.
