Getting tired of the OmniPod failures

Fairly new to the omnipod. I'v only been on the pod for maybe 5 months. The past 3 months have started to become Hell. I'v had to replace at lest 2 1/2 boxes with Insulet. Thankfully they replaced these. But each time I will be told that they wont after this time. I'v tried all the tips not filling it above 200un. Its suppose to last about 3 days and now if I can get one to work. It will only last about 2. I have to buy a bottle of insulin like once a week now. when it should only be twice a month. Like most people my family is on a buget and well its costing more then it originally was suppose to.

Something is very wrong....I have only had to replace 5 pods in almost 2 years.

Is this the new pods or the old ones?

Agreed. I would talk to your local rep if possible and see what they can do. There is a learning curve, but 5 months is a long one.

they are the new pods

I will have to try that. Thank you

hmmm. Maybe I will not be so anxious to get them then.... I am still on the old ones...

I have had a lot of issues with pod failures on and off for the past 3 1/2 years I have been using the pods. You may want to ask to speak with one of the program managers. They can help you trouble shoot to see whether e it is something you are doing (most if the time it is the pod) or if the pod is defective. Also if you go through the program manager(s) it is easier to get them to replace the wasted insulin. For every 5 pod failures (filled to 200units) they will reimburse you for purchasing additional insulin. I have had to do that a few times. I know it can be frustrating, but I hope this helps.

I have to agree, something is wrong. I have been on the new pods just about the same length of time you have, and have had zero pod failures. Not a single failure, or even an occlusion.

All I can think, is that Insulet did delay the new pods for a while. You may have been lucky to have received some of these bad versions. Hopefully the did get those issues figured.
