Does anyone have real life experience with using this supplement? Specifically in regards to raising blood sugar and does it really even work? I'm seeing mixed results on a google search. I've recently started running and lately my knees are getting a little achy and I thought I might start taking this to support the cartilage in the knees. All thoughts are appreciated.
I use them. Running and jiujitsu are brutal on the joints. Not sure how well it works either, but it doesn't seem to hurt anything. No noticeable effects on my BG.
I tried glucosamine before my dx. It gave me the worst gas.
I've taken this for over 20 yrs. and been a diabetic for 1 1/2 yrs. The doctors and CDE are aware that I take it and have never said anything about any impact on blood sugars. I do know if I've run out of it and don't buy more right away, within 48 hours I can't stand it anymore and off to the store I go to buy more. It's not perfect, but I can't do without it.
I've used it for a few years.. I noticed improvement within 1/2 hour of taking it the first time. It lubricates my joints and my flexibility/mobility is better. I can only take it every other day usually because I'm mildly allergic to it due to the shell fish and my eyes start to puff up a bit and get irritated. I haven't noticed any affect on my bg yet. I wouldn't run if your knees are hurting. I used to run years ago-knee and ankle pain stopped me. An ortho doc told me to stop running and I'm thankful for that. Walking is less stressful on your joints.
