If anyone is looking to join an awesome diabetes community, I just created this page and it is steadily growing:
The Diabadass community offers support and understanding for individuals battling type 1 diabetes, recognizing the stress and challenges they face. We aim to create a culture that provides guidance, knowledge-sharing, and solidarity around this chronic disease. The community covers diverse topics, from diet and exercise to medical advancements, emphasizing real-life experiences and fostering a sense of inclusivity. The community is committed to self-improvement and rejects a victim mentality, offering a space for individuals to take control of their diabetes and unite as Diabadasses, turning the disease into a source of strength and understanding.
If anyone has any other recommendations for communities that would be awesome too!
I’ve never felt good about FB as a platform for theses types of conversations. FB just doesn’t facilitate in-depth conversation very well. Let us know how it goes. I don’t know if main stream social media is the place to seek “understanding,” but let us know how it goes. Fingers crossed for 'ya.
I agree, most of the Facebook communities I have been a part of haven’t been great, which is why I made this! Goal is to create a tight knit community trying to become the best version of themselves. So far it has been pretty good and active!
