Good Dr?

I have seen my endo for the last 5yrs he is great compared to the ones I had seen before he is up to technology and knows his stuff, I really did like him but recently he stopped seeing patients he is still in the office but doesnt see patients anymore he has two new dr's who are good but not great, I drive 56 miles one way to see them its pretty far I only go every 3 months but there are times when im not in control I have to go every month even every 2 weeks I dont mind at all but this new dr tells me if I'm having any trouble to go ahead and stop by no appt necessary he knows I live pretty far. I would much rather call and talk over the phone or email/fax my logs I have called before when I was having some problems and he never returned my call, so what I am asking is if there is a website where I can find a really good Dr. Its just getting a bit frustrating because I am trying to get everything under control but its hard when I cant even get a hold of my Dr. I did try seeing another Dr that was closer to me but he did not know how to download my pump, i guess he new more about shots and not much about pumps, I felt like I was the Dr and he was the patient I am really scared to try a new Dr cause of this but I feel as though im not getting anywhere with the new doc at the old office.. thanks in advance :)

If you go to the Insulin Pumpers web site you will find a list of pump doctors, recommended by members, you don't have to subscribe to look at the lists.

Scroll down to "Insulin Pumpers Physician Referrals"

They are listed by state.

That’s exactly what I was looking for thank you!!

Yes primarily pump issues, I have been on the pump for 6yrs I and on omnipod for the last 2… I never did changes to my pump because I was told by my old Dr only she could make the changes until recently I started looking into it and have done several changes little by little and its working… I have heard a lot of people talk about those books on here I will have to look for them thank you!

My Endo Howard Wolpert

I would seriously consider taking a trip to Boston and doing an extensive visit with him and the Pump team.

He is one of the leaders in Pumping and advances in Diabetic technology. Also the BEST bedside manner on the planet. He responds to my emails all the time, and has a very realistic and understanding approach to people with brittle diabetes, and makes you feel better, not guilty. I trust this man above anyone else I have been to in the past 32 years. When I lived in Japan, I used to come back every six months just to see him. Good luck!

Also do yourself a favor and read this book,

I had him autograph mine ;-)

Dr. Wolpert started me on my first pump in 1997! He's the best!
