Found out I was Type 2 diabetic about 5 years ago. Was on both metformen and 70/30 Novolog mix. 1st test taken discovered I in kidney failure. because I was in kidney failure I had to be taken off of metformen. Am not just on Novolog 70/30 mix. Works great.
Very easy and not painful to take shots. For me, thje shots work better.
I’ve been on metformin for more than five years. I started insulin in december. I wanted to start insulin for some time, my doctors all through I was whacked and I didn’t get much support. Frankly, I agree with you. I am on an MDI, for the first time since I was diagnosed, my numbers are truly normal. I am relieved to be on insulin.
Thank you for the reply. Much appreciate evberybody on here. That was my experience. Others may have had other experiences. Have many friends who are diabetic. And I find that so manyof them are staying on metformin because they are affraid to take shots. I do understand. I was affarid at 1st also, butonce you do it, it is really no big deal. I grab a fleshy part of my thigh and pinch it real hard and then I inject where and while it is pinched and it is totally painless for me. Would never tell anyone what to do. But I ask that people just try it and it may be pleasant experience with regard to sugar.
bsc, I’m with you on this one. I’m so glad I stopped all oral meds and went MDI.
Thank you. I really appreciate your input.
REspectfully,
