My plans are to stay inside and out of this horrible heat. It is even to hot to grill. Later in the evening I will watch the festivities that are on TV from Philly. A very exciting day !!!! LOL
My plan is also to stay at home, though I will spend time in my hammock outside. The 4th of July is very big in my small town and begins in the morning with "firing of the anvil" (explosion sounds) every few minutes starting at 6AM. Since I like to sleep late that is pretty annoying! I also don't care for crowds and am not really nationalistic so I basically ignore the whole thing. I do like fireworks but may or may not be able to see them through the trees at my house.
Sorry to be negative, just not my thing! but I do hope everyone else enjoys! Oh yes, one thing I did enjoy (early last week) about the 4th: the great sales at Macy's!
We'll also be inside, except my husband gets to go outside long enough to grill. He hauled the grill itself onto the front porch, so that in case of rain/storms, he can still use the grill. It's nearly 100 degrees outside right now, will go a little higher I expect. I also expect to enjoy an ice cold gluten-free beer (Daura) later in the afternoon when he's done with all the marinading, etc. The dogs won't have to hear much in the way of noise, just some neighbors' firecrackers. I expect to see some nice fireworks on TV in the evening. As for BGs, I lower my nightly basal and set the alarm for 3:00AM to check after a beer or two. I guess all that qualifies as a nice, quiet Fourth. It's hard not to think of our Founding Fathers and Mothers at this time, but I also have thoughts about how hard my parents and grandparents worked in our country during this last century as well. Happy Fourth of July!
Happy July 4 th to all my American friends . We feel for those , who are struggling with having NO electricity, wild fires and other weather related problems ...NOT Good :(
