I want underwear that’s cute and/or sexy that has a pocket in the waist in the middle of the back. Or a garter belt with the same pocket so I have someplace to put it during marital relations.

Hi everyone! I’m new to the tudiabetes area but I love the idea of this group. From the posts I’ve read the ideas are GREAT! I’ve actually ordered a few things, a nightshirt (and pants for cold nights) with a pocket for the pump and a few garter-type things that hold the pump under a skirt from a site called Pumpwear.com…It might have what some are looking for (it had a few garter type things too)…The only thing that I wish they had would be something that “hides the bulge” that the Pump can sometimes make under clothes. I wear the Medtronic Minimed 722.

What is you personal basal rates for 24 hours? How do you determine your rate? It will be interesting to see what the comparisons are between people…

I would like a alarmclock which can be set. My child (12) is using the pump for a year now. I want him to test his Bg at school - but he forgets. I would like to set a alarm to remember him to test.

Riette, you didn’t say what pump our child is using, but My Metronics and I would assume most other pumps have BG reminders you can easily set once you turn the function on. Check with you pump manufacturer.

Medtronic minimed 722 - I found a function BG reminder - and I turned it on. When does it remind? Is there a place where I can set the time for the reminder?

Riette, the BG Reminder will remind you a certain time after you give a bolus. You can set an alarm for a fixed time by going to the menu- utilities- alarm clock. I’m not sure if you need to reset it everyday? I’m new to the Minimed.

I’ve heard other parents who use a digital watch where they can set multiple alarms. Some said that their kids didn’t notice the pump reminders, but the watch ones they did. Just an idea.

Riette & Kristin, You shouldn’t need to reset it everyday - my MM 512 kept going off daily. I do understand Kristin’s comment about kids not noticing. I’m not a kid & sometimes (alot of times) I wouldn’t hear it & it would’ve been going off for a few hours. I still wonder if it was really going off when it was supposed to.

I set Jan-Hendrik’s yesterday, It looks like you onlly have to set it once. He either didn’t hear it or ignored it (because the alarm also went of because the insulin were low) Or it just did’nt went off(?). Once he asked me what this 2 hours reminder means - It seems that after the alarm went of you have a choice to postpone it - I think, I didn’t look. I think your comment on the watch is going better. I’m going to get him a digital watch. Normally testing is not a problem - it’s just lately because his BG is off (puberty? ) I would like hime to test more often. He rarely test at school - only when he feels low…

I think there should be different alarm sounds other then the beeps. I am using the Paradigm 522 and still new to diabetes and the pump. As much as the pumps cost they should have MP3 players.

That will be a good idea  JH bought a MP3 last week for himself. I told him if he go on like that he’s going to look like a christam tree with all the gadgets hanging on him - pump, mp3, cellphone!!

Jody, if you are trying to get rid of the bulge you might try one of Pump Wear inc’s Pump Bands, I actually got one of these for my baby i have one that goes around his waist, i like it because i can actually move the band to be positioned where i need it to be for example if i want it towards the back i can move it there,

I love it because with a baby i can actually keep it secure and out of his hands that way also! Hope that helps, Molly

I would like a clip that could fit onto my belt or onto my pants that is small and can contain my dextrose tabs. that would be great!

In our country is the pump accessories not readily available. After the clip on my son’s first pump holder/bag that we got with the pump broke (It did not actually broke it wore out an became to loose to hold on to his pants) - we went to a cellphone shop and bought a leather holder with an amazing clip. The pump fits perfectly in this holder and it even has a hole (I think its for the charger where he puts the tube through). It clips securely and one really have to know how to clip it off. In our country cellphone theft is in the order of the day and the pump could easily be mistaken for a cellphone. This clip ensure than it cannot just be ripped off.

I know Medtronic has an “accessories” area on its website and another site that sells pump accessories is Pumpwear.com…There are probably a whole lot more too…Try Googling “Diabetic Pump Accessories” or something like that.

Is the think tank just focused on pump accessories, or is it for anything to do with pump usage?

I currently carry around my back up pump supplies in a make up case and my glucometer in the case supplied. What i would LOVE is one bag (stylish) that is organized. Something I can fit a couple infusion sets, insulin vial, cartridges, xtra strips, glucometer, pen and strips, ketone strips and dextrose tabs. And fits nicely into my purse.

Everything I have looked up online is big, ugly and cumbersome or is just for a glucometer. Or everything is directed towards children. I’m a grown woman that would like something stylish not childish.

I know it is possible to have something that can fit my needs, but I would rather not have to make it myself I would rather just purchase it. But I can’t find what I need, I may have to make my own.

Preta is right there should be more stylish things! I don’t like carrying a big bulky black bag for my One Touch ultra mini! or my insulin pen so let make some small travel size bags that will look stylish to be holding all the time!

That would be awesome if pumps had mp3’s Will Jonhson!

I would like to be able to type in/text in data under the capture event features on my MM 723. Right now it is just hanging out there and does nothing …what the heck is a other. you cannot type anything in. By the time I download on caremark 3 days later…what the heck was that for???
