“…It’s a new dawn
It’s a new day
It’s a new life
For me
And I’m feeling good…” Feeling Good sung by Carly Rose Sonenclar, a 12 year old child.
For the ADD folks - perfect for them - me included
Hello Gary:
Always amuses me they make VIDEO’s of singers. I say give us a blur the video function it’s their VOICE(s) that I want to hear!!! (Always love a capella, the power of voices, in harmony. If I cant have that then give me an acoustic versions… the voice not the instrument I say ; )
Fallen has an acoustic version by McLaughlin I liked even better. There have been some beautiful vocal covers as well.
Hello Ruth,
Yup was the Bee Gees originally I keep hoping to find a nice R & B trio, folk group or just something with more heart/emotion in it?
Sigh…
A Diabetic Musing.
OK, any Grace Slick fans will know where this comes from.
One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don’t do anything at all
Go ask Alice
When she’s ten feet tall
“My son turned ten just the other day
He said, thanks for the ball, dad, come on let’s play
Can you teach me to throw, I said, not today
I got a lot to do, he said, that’s okay
And he walked away, but his smile never dimmed
It said, I’m gonna be like him, yeah
You know I’m gonna be like him
(The song has several verses along these lines until…)
I’ve long since retired and my son’s moved away
I called him up just the other day
I said, I’d like to see you if you don’t mind
He said, I’d love to, dad, if I could find the time
You see, my new job’s a hassle, and the kids have the flu
But it’s sure nice talking to you, dad
It’s been sure nice talking to you
And as I hung up the phone, it occurred to me
He’d grown up just like me
My boy was just like me”
Cat’s in the Cradle by Harry F. Chapin
A favorite
White Rabbit of course
When I’m drivin’ in my car, and the man come on the radio
He’s tellin’ me more and more about some useless information
Supposed to fire my imagination
When I’m watchin’ my TV and a man comes on and tells me
How white my shirts can be
But, he can’t be a man 'cause he doesn’t smoke
The same cigarettes as me
When I’m ridin’ ‘round the world
And I’m doin’ this and I’m signin’ that
And I’m tryin’ to make some girl, who tells me
Baby, better come back maybe next week
Can’t you see I’m on a losing streak?
@Rphil2, Sounds like a Stones song. I will not have any ‘Satisfaction’ until I figure out which one.
(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction
just google any line - the internets knows everything
LOL, I was just messing with Rick, I knew exactly which Stones song he was talking about.
Yeah, I saw after I posted - duh on me - I need a nap and some vitamins
Just a little pinprick
There’ll be no more, ah
But you may feel a little sick
Can you stand up?
I do believe it’s working, good
That’ll keep you going through the show
Come on it’s time to go
You’re nearly a good laugh
Almost worth a quick grin
You like the feel of steel
You’re hot stuff with a hatpin
And good fun with a hand gun
I wasn’t that much into Pink Floyd but everyone recognizes “Comfortably Numb”, The second Pink Floyd song “Pigs” I had to search for.
An innocent bystander
Somehow I got stuck between a rock and a hard place
And I’m down on my luck
Yes, I’m down on my luck
Well, I’m down on my luck
My husband and I saw her sing this more than 50 yrs ago.
