Im leaving for Hawaii from San Diego but stupidly forgot to pack extra pods. Would anyone in SD, be willing to let me borrow a couple Pods? And when i get back, I will send some back???
(all my pods r in Los Angeles)
Im desperate.

Oh boy. Big problem. Sounds like back to MDI for your vacation. Bummer. You can buy syringes OTC without script. You can also get R and N OTC as well. Both items legally in Hawaii. I'm worried about the basal though. Both Levemir and Lantus require script. Let us know how it works out. Best of luck.
Can you contact your rep to see if they can get you in contact with the local rep (either in SD or Hawaii) to get pods? Good luck!
Yikes, I'm in Chicago so no help there! I had a pump failure last summer on the Saturday of 4th of July weekend so I didn't get a new pump until Tuesday and was pretty much put into the same spot, either go to the ER and get Lantus (which I'd never actually taken before...) or go to Walgreens and get some R/N. It worked out ok. I'd run like 10 miles Saturday AM and then biked 20 that afternoon (to a bar, where we ate junk food and drank beer to make sure I had plenty of carbs...) and then went home and cooked a huge pork shoulder roast. We went for another bike spin to brunch on Sunday and probably ran on Monday so I was really active and the numbers were ok. I think I tested and bolused a lot but I didn't keep notes but it worked out ok. Have fun in Hawaii!!
Wow! That's awesome! My inlaws live in Carlsbad (they don't have any Omnipods though...) and we've done the SD to LA and back drives a lot, sometimes several times/ week when we visit as LA is much more on the 13 year old's radar than SD ("look an aircraft carrier" takes care of my business but well, you know...) and it can be a hike!!
Did you get this taken care of? How long before you leave. I am from San Diego but in CO these days. I ha e 2 boxes of pods since I switched to a Ping. If overnighting would work or something, let me know. I’ve been where you are before.
OT: Todd - which do you like better? The Pod or the Ping? I'm currently using the Ping, but just ordered the Omnipod - will get it next week. Just curious which you prefer?
Hey, sorry but I didn't get any sort of notification about this question. I really liked a lot of things about the Omnipod like living my life without a tube for the first time in nearly 20 years, getting to use my triceps as an infusion site instead of my stomach, etc. Some of the issues I had were; I had a series of defective pods and it was really hard because I travel, I had never had quality issues with Minimed or Animas. There were occasional times I would catch a pod on something and that was difficult. I do like the Ping, it has been very reliable and has a decent clip. My issues are the extra steps for a bolus, the remote goes way too fast when you hold a directional button down, and I have trouble reading it (but that's the retinopathy and not the pump). Anyway, that's my exhausted brain's answer :)
