How can your diabetes data help create a quick picture of medication safety?

As of today, over 1,250 members of TuDiabetes have chosen to sign up to use our TuAnalyze application. As a result, so far we’ve lit up 16 US states and 1 Canadian province (Ontario) on the TuAnalyze map and with your help, Colorado, Wisconsin, Missouri and British Columbia will be lighting up any day now.

Launching TuAnalyze and later expanding it to map data from Canadian members was just the start. Today, I am happy to announce an important new feature on TuAnalyze that will help researchers at Children’s Hospital Boston (our partner organization in this project), better understand data entered by you and trends resulting from it.

We’ve incorporated a survey into TuAnalyze that will help us do much more! For example, the survey contains several questions about medication safety spurred by recent European and US drug safety recommendations for diabetes.

Completing the survey will help our community, researchers and public health agencies know more about how these recommendations are affecting people touched by diabetes, to improve communications and care. The survey will also allow you to indicate in a structured fashion, whether you are a patient or a caregiver, your diabetes type, and other information to complement your A1c data. And to top it all, completing the survey on TuAnalyze will take you no more than 5 minutes of your time (I promise!)

Last, if you are a current TuAnalyze user and you have new A1c data, don’t forget to enter it on TuAnalyze. And if you aren’t using TuAnalyze, sign up at http://tud4.us/TuAnalyzeProfile.

Thanks for your support and don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

A few things I thought I’d clarify:
-Your answers to the survey will remain anonymous.
-If you want to have your A1c data help light up more states on the TuAnalyze map, please make sure to choose either “Grouped” or “Grouped + Profile” on the Sharing Settings page: http://tud4.us/TuAnalyzeProfile.

Have a great weekend!!

P.S. As of this moment Missouri and Colorado are 1 PERSON away from lighting up in the map!

Done .
I struggled a bit , when entering my age …a sample as in 35 and a word was used, which I did not know …I typed in 42 , did not accept …then I finally lied ( my hubby would likely correct me and say " you had to do , what you had to do ") typed in 40 …IT worked .
Yes, would love to see BC , Canada lit up .

I just sent out this update to everyone:

As we announced last week, we’ve incorporated a survey (http://tud4.us/TuSurvey) into TuAnalyze to indicate in a structured fashion, whether you are a patient or a caregiver, your diabetes type, and other information to complement your A1c data. Your answers to the survey will remain anonymous.

If you are a current TuAnalyze user and you have new A1c data, don’t forget to enter it on TuAnalyze. And if you aren’t using TuAnalyze, sign up at http://tud4.us/TuAnalyzeProfile.

For new and more experienced TuAnalyze users, if you want to have your A1c data help light up more states on the TuAnalyze map (http://tud4.us/TuAnalyzeMap), please make sure that either “Grouped” or “Grouped + Profile” is selected on the Sharing Settings page: http://tud4.us/TuAnalyzeSharing
