How do you keep track of all your gadgets?!

Hello, all!

I'm quite a novice runner, I probably just run a mile or two a couple of times a week, but considering that I've hated running my entire life, I feel that this is an accomplishment! :)

My problem is that I have too much stuff to carry with me when I go: a bottle of gatorade, my Dexcom, my Omnipod, my cell phone, my house keys... Sometimes I leave the Omnipod at home, but still with everything else it's a lot to carry/shove into pockets.

I'm finally getting around to getting an armband for my cell phone, and I saw that they sell one for the Dexcom too, but at $35 + shipping, it's a little pricy. I wonder if there are any cheaper alternatives?

Just wondering what everyone's hacks and tricks are to keeping track of all their gear!

:)

I use an armband for my phone. I got belt clip cases from Tallygear for my Dexcom receiver and OmniPod PDM. On rainy days, the electronics go into ziploc bags, then into the cases. Everything else goes into my pockets, sometimes in plastic bags, again if I’m anticipating rain or just a lot of sweat.

Congrats on your start as a runner! I only carry a drink on longer runs, but when I do I like to use a belt. Nathan and Amphopod are good brands - they make hydration belts (with space for one larger or several small bottles) and also arm bands for phones. The belt takes a little getting used to but it's really nice to have your hands free (which you will appreciate even more if you decide to start running further!)

However, my VERY favorite discovery ever was the "shoe wallet" (Google it and you will find a few, I think the one I have is Amphipod). It is a small pouch that attaches to your shoelaces and can hold a house or car key, and is just the right size for Gu, glucose gel, or a small ziploc baggie of glucose tablets (although over time, friction will turn them into dust, just FYI). Although I have rarely ever needed it, I feel very safe having that on my shoe at all times in case of unexpected low.

I don't have a Dexcom, but as an Omnipod user I'll tell you that I am really bad and just leave it. It's way too bulky and unless I'm going to be out for a few hours I'm usually not messing with my insulin anyway.
