I’ve been pumping for six years. Starting with a Minimed 508 in 2001, then upgraded this year to the 722. Hoping to expand it to add the CGMS when insurance starts paying for that feature. I used multiple daily injections for 19 years prior to the pump. Although my regimen is still a work in progress, I have seen some improvement with the pump and it definitely adds a degree of flexibility, particularly with my work hours. Thanks for creating this group. 
We are all a work in progress no matter how long we’ve lived witth Diabetes. By the way I’ve been pumping for almost 9 years lol.

I’ve been diabetic for 24 years. 24 years this week…wow that made my gut do a flip. I was put on my first pump 11 years ago with the plan of getting pregnant. 2 months after that, I was knocked up…haha. I now have two beautiful children and I’m on my fourth pump. I love pumping, it’s changed my life. 24 years and my kidneys are fine, eyes work like a charm and my circulation couldn’t be better. I truly believe it’s the pump that has kept me healthy. Now all we need is to keep the politicians out of the stem cell debate and a cure is on the horizon.
I have been a T1 since the age of 10 (diagnosed in 1991) and have been pumping since the age of 13!! I’ve been pumping for 13 years! My first pump was the minimed it didnt diconnect back then so when you took a shower you had to wear a shower pak around your neck. And to go swimming I would have to wear this ugly big fanny-pack looking thing! Wow has Medtronic come a long way!!
I have been pumping for over 25 years. Have T1 for 42 yrs. Still in good health with no complications. I loved the pump so much that 12 years ago sold my business and became a pump rep first for a distributor selling all brands then to Disetronic and then to Cozmo. Just started on a MM and I really miss my Cozmo wish I could get another. I left the pump business about 5 years ago to start a new company but selling pumps was the best time of my life. I met so many great people both patients and medical professionals dedicated to helping us. Now Im back in college and I might re enter the medical field next year when I graduate.

I was diagnosed in November 1990, and I started on a pump within 24 hours of diagnosis. My dad had been on a pump since 1983, and I knew that pumping was the way to go. I’m still pumping, and so is he.
I have been diabetic for 18 years, and have just started pumping today…very scary and a lot to take in, but I am positive that things can’t get any worse so it should be worth it!!
It’s worth it. I’ve been pumping for over 10 years and it feels almost like having a Pancreas.
I started pumping on June 8th of this year using a MM722. I was diagnosed Type 1 on January 24th, 2005

Next Feb. will be 15 yrs. I was diagnosed in "92, but in review of my old lab results, I had T2 back in the early 80’s. Neither I or any doctor/physical picked up on it. I has made my life much easier. It’s a part of me now, and I wouldn’t ever be without it.
I’ve had diabetes for around 16 years (dx1993) and a pump since 1999 (10 years now!). I tried syringes, medi-jector (ouch!), pens, and finally the pump. I’ve had the MM507C, and I’m on my second MM Paradigm, the 522. I still don’t have continuous monitoring equipment yet…insurance won’t pay for it. But I make up for it daily by checking my BG around 5-16 times a day!
