Times do ya’ll type one’s test and how long in between test normally???
I test every 2 hours if I’m not wearing my CGM
If I am wearing my cgm I still test prior to each meal and snack. Before bed, and before driving.
about 10 times a day, basically every couple of hours
total of 4 times a day. before each meal and before bed.
Too many times!
It depends. anywhere from 6-10 times per day.
During the day, every 2-4 hours.
When exercising, every 15-30 minutes.
When sleeping, nada.
Cheers, Mike
when i wake up, before and after each meal, before going to bed, and if i want to eat a snack i test just to see how much insulin i need to take. If i’m having some out-of-range readings, i keep on testing every one or two hours
I test before and after each of three meals, at bedtime, and frequently in the middle of the night (whenever I happen to wake up). Also any time I feel low, and before/after any significant exercise. That translates to 8 -10 tests per day.
About 8-10 times per day, but a lot more if I am high and trying to bring it down into the normal range…the CGMS does give me a bit of leeway if I don’t want to test as often but I feel a lot cozier with a fingerstick before/after workouts and bedtime.
About 10-15 times on workdays, maybe once every 30-45 minutes when I’m out in the sun. After I get out of work, I test every two hours.
I usually test about every 3-4 hours on a “good day” and every 2 hours on a “bad day”!
4-8 times a day… depends how many times i eat, if i go for a drive, or if im feeling funky
At least 4-7 times a day (before each meal, 2 hours after eqch meal and at bedtime)
Niece is 12 and tests before and two hours after each meal/snack (generally eats three or four times a day). Dinner and hours until 2am wacky, so test two hours, then an hour and a half (usually) until 2am, then 3:30 or 4am check. Exercise, before and each hour into it. She is very used to testing and does not bat an eye, although she does not like to stop what she is doing when out with friends. Looking forward to a few years down the line when numbers should be more stable than they are now. We will be using the Dexcom 7 Plus. Not sure how much she will wear it, hoping at least two weeks out of the month. Obviously if Dex is on and proves reliable, that will cut down on the sticks when she is wearing it.
