I hate when people don't know there is a difference

I went biking one time and had a sugar low. I am type 2 but once upon a time I could hit lows on metformin only. I pulled over a liquor store that is on my route. I had a 58 and walked into the liquor store. Went straight for the orange juice and slammed it before I paid. Just stood there for about 15 minutes while the sugar kicked in. The clerk walks up to me and asked me if I planned to pay. I told him I was a type 2 and had a low. He told me. I did not think you type 2s had lows. He was a type 1. I guess not enough info out there for the public.

Wow. And he wasn't even "public" but a PWD. Scary how little info really does get disseminated.

This gets even more interesting when you Type 2 and insulin dependent. I also use an insulin pump and I have the ability to cover my carbs with insulin. Try explaining that to someone that knows you are Type 2. The type 2 stereotype doesn't really fit me either.

I also find it amusing most of the time.

Quite so. I am also T2 on insulin. I get really tired of untangling that set of misconceptions. Done it too many times now.

i would never laugh at you...i would try to help you...i've had type 1 for 76 years & am on the pump...minimed 522. good luck you all.
