I have hypothyroidism and I had a CT scan with contrast

I had DKA last January and from that time I have been having issues with my digestive system, the most recent one being acidity below navel on both sides almost always that reduces a bit on eating but is mostly there and food lies there undigested for a long time with a lot of belching. This has been there for the past 1 year and 3 months. Most of the doctors I went to just gave me antacid PPI tablets that didn't help much.

So I came to my grandma's place and went to her family doctor. He ordered a CT abdomen scan after doing endoscopy. At the lab, they took blood for kidney function test and then I went for CT scan. They asked whether I had few health conditions which included diabetes and I answered yes. After the first round they kept giving me some juice like liquid with some medicine. I was scared that it will spike my blood sugar levels up, but they asked me not to take insulin.

Then after some 5-6 glasses and a couple of hours later, I went in for second round and it was fine.

Then for the 3rd round they called in and injected a IV syringe. I had already told them that I was a Type 1 diabetic taking insulin. They asked me if I was allergic to any medicine. I told them I have a history of skin rashes and allergy that come and go randomly (possibly autoimmune) but no idea about medicine allergy.

They injected something and my body felt very hot as they had told it would. Then after the tests, I came out and saw some allergic rashes on the side of my neck. So I immediately told the doctor about it and he asked the nurse to inject 2 medicines for allergy (not sure what they were, but could be steroid based medicines). Then it went away.

But ever since coming home from the CT scan, my sugar levels have been insanely high ( 2 times above 340 and 2 times above 200). I came home and I have been feeling fine except 2-3 times of loose motion and a little bit of tiredness.

I read on the internet that the contrast contains Iodine which could affect thyroid as the dose is huge. I have hypothyroidism (though under control with homeopathy medicine which work for me) but they didn't ask me anything about thyroid.

So should I be worried about high sugar levels and my hypothyroidism? I have to visit the lab again a couple of days later for Barium swallow test. Anything to be careful about? I will be visiting the doctor only after both the tests are done.

I am worried about my blood sugar levels and possibly my thyroid condition. Does any one have experience or some knowledge about this? I know talking to the doctor is the best solution, but it will be a couple of days since I visit him unless there are problems. So it would be good to hear from people

If you received steroid medicines, that could definitely raise your blood sugar by quite a bit and it will last for several days. There is another thread on here somewhere about that. I would definitely raise your doses for a bit to counter.

Hope everything turns out well from the testing.
