Hey all,
I’ve been lurking around here for a while, learning more about pregnancy and picking up useful advice, but this is my first time posting. I’m 31, and have had type 1 for almost 20 years now. I got pregnant last year during my first cycle off of birth control. Unfortunately, that ended in miscarriage at around 6 weeks, and I had a D&C and went back on birth control for a couple months. While that was going on, I went on the pump, which helped tremendously with my overall sense of well-being. My A1C was 6.7 when I got pregnant, and 6.0 immediately after the pregnancy ended, so I already had decent control, but with too many lows to balance out highs.
My endo gave me her blessing to try again last August, but I haven’t gotten my period since then.I recently had an ultrasound of my uterus/ovaries, which indicated that I have PCOS. All of my bloodwork results were in the normal range. My OB tried progesterone to induce a period, but that didn’t work for me. My OB seemed pretty perplexed by that result, and she took a while to get back to me and offer another suggestion. I’m just starting a regimen of estrogen/progesterone, which will hopefully get something going.
I’m pretty freaked out right now about my chances of getting pregnant again and having a successful pregnancy. I’m trying to be optimistic, since I did get pregnant once, but I just can’t seem to get over this persistent feeling that there is something really wrong with me. Has anyone had a similar experience? Any words of advice?
