Have your pricker with you, but you do have the meter, what do you use to poke yourself with if the holes are too hard to get blood out of?
Me I have used a sewing needle, don’t worry I discarded that thing properly.
Did not have a “pricker” therefore i used a sterile syringe. It hurt!, and it worked and bleed well.

This happened to me once and I use the tip of the needle from my glucagon injection kit.
Oh yeah - once I was without at work. I contemplated using a stapler; a box cutter; a corkscrew, the post of my earring.
I had a little sewing kit in my desk and used the needle. Ick.
When that happened to me I used a sewing needle to prick my finger.
