Hi. I'm 41 years old and was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 1987 right before my 21st birthday. I've used an insulin pump for over 8 years, recently started Symlin therapy and am trying to get tighter control over my sugars.
I live in Flagstaff, Arizona and work in the Human Resources department at Northern Arizona University (Go Lumberjacks!). My biggest challenge is losing weight - so hard to do when you're diabetic. I'm really looking forward to getting a continuous glucose monitor so when I'm exercising I know where my blood sugar is at and where it's going. I'm also really looking forward to a cure.
