Infusion set help

i need advice on infusion sets
my son is four years old and i’m trying to find a set that works for him = i am looking for the smoothest set change, least amount of scar tissue, good delivery, i do not mind if i have to change every 48 hours

so

i tried the manual steel 6mm
was so EXCITED about how easy it was
well, flippin three hours later he’s screaming in pain
i had to take it out, there was blood in the tube.

any ideas on manuals that arent steel
i just like the simplicity and ease of manuals, its less traumatic for him i am finding

we have been using the angled 30s but find we’re having trouble with them, plus the huge inserting device i think causes anxiety for him

THANKS
and have a wondeful day
we use the animas ping by the way Tags:

my younger son started the Animas when he was 9 and still skinny, his favorite site was his belly because it was the only place with a bit of fat; after the doctor told him he had to find new sites, we used the back of his arm and now, 5 years later, it is his favorite site. we use inset 30, nobody liked the angled one and we change site every 3 days.
Good luck

My 10 year old has been on the Animas Pump since he was 3. I LOVE the Inset 23in, 6mm from Unomedical. It’s very easy to use and doesn’t hurt to much. It’s a spring-loaded disc (puck like)…goes quickly and you just pull it straight out. My doctor early on also prescribed numbing cream to put on his rear 10 minutes before which helped too. He doesn’t need the numbing cream anymore. We have always had to replace his site every 24 hours or it backs up with blood. This has more to do with how fast he heals…verses the equipment we’re using. Good luck pumping!!!

Ooops…I meant we change it every 48 hours. YIKES!
