He is fine now. It just seemed to be the steel that his body didnt like. In fact, we forgot to change his set on saturday and discovered that he can go 3 days (I remembered before bed but then thought if we left it we could see if he numbers would actually go up on the 3 day instead of just assuming and changing them every 2 days) without his numbers rising.
But then on sunday his new site came off in the bathtub (and yet he had bathed or swam with no probs before) and had to change it, then we had to change it yesterday AM when he had ketones which I still don’t know if it was the site or something else, but that wasn’t fun.
I really wish Canada had the mio set as that would be convenient to be able to leave a set at his school, etc.
i found out about this. apparently the orbit was coming out with sets with the paradigm type connector, but minimed got wind of this and threatened to sue, so they stopped.
anyhow, we have had numerous problems with the quick sets this week, his body doesn’t seem to like the steel sets, they apparently aren’t making the soft sets anymore and my boy does NOT like the look of the angled ones. i have pointed out to medtronic that by choosing minimed we are really limited in infusion set choices. Hopefully this will at least have them hurry to bring the mio here to canada. we are now going to try the cleo 90 though (also needs luer lock).
