Insertion set and medical Xray

I’m having a medical Xray of my knee and hip. I know to leave my pump outside the room. Do I need to remove the insertion set (I use the steel set)? Or if I switched to the plastic cannula T:90 set would that make a difference?

I have had an X-ray while wearing my infusion set but it is not a steel set. I don’t see how a steel cannula could cause a problem. The no X-ray rule is meant to protect your pump. There are X-rays done every day on metal implants in the body, I don’t see how a steel cannula is any different. The only possible problem I could see would be if the set obscured the body part being X-rayed.

I would ask before going in and to be safe I would be prepared to replace my infusion set if asked by the technician to remove it.

As already stated, no issue for x-ray, never for MRI. But The CT scan is a question. If I have metal I remove it if I can. Here is the advice about CT Scan from WakeMedical Center.
