Interview with Gary Hall, Jr

There is an opportunity for us to interview Gary Hall, Jr. next Monday, June 30 at 2:00 PM ET.

I need someone’s help with this, so we can feature this interview next month. Ideally, it would be someone who knows who he is and inspired by him (hard for anybody to not fall in this last category). As a reference, below are some more details about him.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN DOING THIS INTERVIEW, PLEASE CONTACT ME ASAP at manny [AT] tudiabetes [DOT] org. Please include the questions you would ask him. RSVP by Friday, June 27.

  • Gary Hall, Jr. is tied for second place as the most decorated Olympic medalist of all time after swimming in three Olympic Games (Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004).

  • Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes after the 1996 games where he won two gold medals.

  • Currently training for the U.S. Olympic swim team to compete in the 2008 Games in Beijing.

  • His historic fourth Olympiad would provide the opportunity to break the all-time medal record and make him one of the most extraordinary athletes in sports history at the age of 34.

  • Hall is the spokesperson for BD Medical - Diabetes Care a unit of BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company). He also recently joined Eli Lilly and Company’s (www.lilly.com) Inspired by Diabetes program (www.inspiredbydiabetes.com).
