Since it’s Earth week, a fellow member has started dismantling her Omnipods, post-use of course, to pull the batteries out and recycle them. Just think of all the batteries after a year of use that would end up in a landfill. Is there a good/bad/other way to do this? What do you do?
I just posed the question, I currently use a MM 722 and don’t have the frequent battery dilemma.
I chunk them into the trash. But if someone knows of a good use for the batteries, I am willing to listen.
I was grilling the other day and got our my meat thermometer and it was dead. So I opened it up and went through the trash and found a pod and was lucky enough that they were the same size.
Funny thing, I have been bothered from day one about the waste involved with my pod. I received a survey in the mail a week or so ago from Insulet asking if I would be willing to return the used pods to be recycled. Heck yeah! Maybe this is the beginning for Omnipod. I save mine. If they ever do decide to get “green” I’ll be the first to send them back. I know lots of people seem to be of the same mindset as me. I have my fingers crossed.
I save them for the kids toys. there are 4 little ones, and we have several toys that they get used in. It is easy to take them out and there are recycling places that will take them if you don’t have a use for them or for when your batteries from any product are done!
