The last 3 days have been a mess. I usually run 80-110. I’ve had highs in the 180s, average has been in the 120s. I’ve changed my site twice, changed to a new bottle of insulin. I’m not sick, and haven’t eaten more than 10 cho at a tiime.
Tonight I corrected for 136 at 1am, for 150 at 2:15 by injection, and now I’m at 156 at 3am. I hate when I can’t figure out why my BG is fubared!
Are you sure you don’t have an infection somewhere? Whenever that happens to me, it’s usually a small infection or minor illness that is so minor, I can barely detect it. Granted, your numbers are still pretty darn good!
Hi, please be careful! Sometimes these flukes just happen, and life gets really difficult if you “rage bolus” or stack. Of course I have to admit that I speak from experience – too much rage bulusing and stacking.
BTDT too Trudy lol. I haven’t done it (yet) this time, been rounding up the calculator in my ping to the next whole unit. It looks as if I wet down to the 80s at about 4am. 80 when I woke up this morning (1/2 hour ago), and 95 already. Did my usual 0.5 (I always rise when I get up), so we’ll see! Frustrating ;(
Now that I have a pump, I totally understand what you’re saying!!
You´re so much better controlled that these little frustrations can become a big deal, huge…
I guess you just don´t want to take this disease TOO seriously…
Laugh more, do smth relaxing…
And chek your teeth, it could be periodontitis
I’m not angry, just frustrated! I increased my boluses by 50%. Feel like crap going up and down like this. Today is no better. Did my usual 0.5 when I got up at 81 (I always rise), ate 10g cho and bolused, and an hour later I was at 175.
Thanks Alan, turning up the basal may just do the trick! I know my highs don’t seem high to some, but for me they are so I really feel them. No, the ratios are NOT linear. I do compensate for that on my own as much as possible.
I’m using a 9mm canula in a totally different site. Today hasn’t been much better, and I’ve eaten virtually no carbs. Seems as if food in my stomach no matter what is triggering something.
