I got this message on my e-mail and i’d love to tell all of you about it…
there was a diabetic and he said this:
Last month in one of TV program i learnt of a treatment of sugar(Diabetes).
since i’m diabetic,i tried it and it was very useful and my sugar is in control now.
in fact,i have already reduced my medicine>>
take two pieces of lady finger and remove or cut both ends of each piece.
also put a small cut in the middle and put these two pieces in glass of water.
cover the glass and keep it at room temperature during night.
Early morning, remove the two pieces of lady finger from the glass before breakfast simply
and drink that water.
keep doing it on daily basis.
within two weeks, you will see remarkable results in reduction of your sugar.
finally, you have to keep taking it for a few months before you see results,
as most cases might be chronic…
i hope that will help all of you my friends…
(tell me about your opinions).
I’m assuming that “lady finger” must be some sort of okra? Never heard of it. When you say lady finger what comes to my mind is the pastry, you know, the oblong cake thingy with creamy stuff in the middle? I’m thinking, man, it would be nasty to soak that thing all night in a glass of water…and then drink it??? I guess I had a senior moment!
these miracle cures prey on the ignorant and gullible people out there and are shameful. Every now and then one of these hucksters join TuDiabetes, hoping to make some easy money with their snake oil. We are supposed to report any of this kind of activity here by going to the “contact us” at the very bottom of every screen. Manny and the admin team very quickly ban them from TuDiabetes forever. We should thank our administrators often for constantly looking out for us and keeping us safe.
For some strange reason I thought it was some kind of witchcraft. I have heard about that Nooi juice, they are claiming it can cure some cancers, they also make a lot of money out of it per box sold.
Noor, thanks for sharing this. Wouldn’t it be wonderful it a cure for diabetes was as simple as soaking a couple pieces of Okra over night. Someday there will be a cure and we all be able to look back and smile over the miracle cures.
Additionally: I considered the source of this discussion information before replying: noor’s TuDiabetes home page says she’s 17 and was diagnosed as type 1 on 29JUN1993, and it indicates she’s been a TuDiabetes member for awhile. As Gerri wrote, “The web is packed with absurd supposed cures for everything. At least this person isn’t selling anything.”
Also, okra could have some undiscovered chemical that helps diabetes. That is a long shot but these things are possible. So my bottom line is: Drinking okra water can’t hurt me, it might even help my bs, and it certainly can’t be any worse than drinking 2T of vinegar in a glass of water when trying to lower my post meal bs in the past. Seehttp://asunews.asu.edu/20090421_vinegarstudy (recent 2009 vinegar research results), which says in part: ““The data suggests that the daily ingestion of vinegar at mealtime may favorably influence blood glucose in patients with type 2 diabetes,” says Johnston, a nutrition professor.”
Besides, I need to increase my fluid intake. So, noor, thanks again for taking the time to share.
well, actually i’m not going to do this because i don’t like okra.
but i think there is no problem to try it because we won’t lose any thing!
your opinions were realy helped me and will help alot of people.
i’m very happy to read your opinions about that, thanks for all of you my friends.
check my photoes and you’ll see a photo about Okra
Okra can be bought at any grocery store and is not profiting just some “huckster”. It is just someone’s home remedy, just like they say Cinnamon may help lower blood sugar. I don’t think Noor was trying to do any harm, but just suggesting that she heard might work. Plus, what negative effects could possibly give you? If anything, Im sure that you are gaining nutrients that are good for your body.
I just read Noor’s remarks and some of the replys. Noor’s suggestion sounds wacky, but that’s not why I’m writing. I am surprised that some don’t know what Okra is. I’m from OK and we have it in the gro.store most of the year. When I was in the U.S. Army, Okra was served often. If you don’t know a thing about Okra or how to cook it, then buy the pickeled Okra. I have some in the frig, now. Why? Hey, its low carb. I’ll say it again; it’s low carb. Check it out.
