I’ve confessed here before. I lick my`fingers after testing. I’ve actually gone a number of years w/o using alcohol for fingers or even inject sites. Iprefer the taste of hotwing and bbq sauce to my own blood.

I always lick. Recycled protein! I never used alcohol wipes for a while but, when I switched to the Bayer meter, it seemed to be more susceptible to gunk and I’ve been using them for a year or two. And my A1C went down, although that’d be an N=1, totally unscientific survey…
Always lick. I am a geologist and we almost always lick rocks we are examining to better show up the details of structure and mineralogy. Maybe my finger-lickin is a carryover.
Never considered licking my finger. I recently had stays in ICU of different hospitals, and some aids or nurses would wipe with an alcohol swab after, which I would complain about the sting if the poke was deep. A plain swab or tissue works fine in the rare case that there is extra blood.
