i have never bought or tasted gluco-tabs of any variety. i carry granola bars (even when i ref college soccer, i have one in my back pocket. i’ve gotten really good of sneaking bites while sprinting with track stars posing as soccer players. i’ve also snuck bites during white house press conferences.) i seldom use anything else. they’re easy to carry, easy to eat and are sugary enough to nudge BGs up without causing serious spikes.
