Low blood glucose all day

Today is a crazy day for me. I keep going low and I cannot identify the reason why?!? No change in meds. Possible menstrual cycle next week but other than that no reason why my glucose should be dropping so much. Has anyone ever experienced a weird day where their sugar doesn’t stop dropping and if so, what are some possible causes?

My daughter has been running weird lows for the past 3 days, all at different times of the day or night, for no clearly apparent reason.

Must be planetary alignment or bad mojo…

@D114 has it been unusually hot today where you are?

I find that sometimes changes in the weather can really affect my BG like that.

That’s happened to me every now and then. No new supplements either? Have you been exercising more than usual? Or could it be that you lost a few pounds and now need a little less insulin?

i am with MayaK. i also go low at the start of summer. i love it, its like im being cured by the heat. hope you are able to straighten out your lows!

I will have lows strung together if I hesitate to treat a low. I have had a day where it FELT like I was going low all day. I actually treated and then tested. Not low, but not high. This went on for a few hours–then I started going low. 80, 60, 55. The whole time, I’m treating for a low. My sister sends her son over with a big glass of orange juice. I drink it. My nephew and I talk a bit.

Then my nephew said, “Do you know you’re slurring your speech?”

“No.”

Over about six hours, I consumed 250g of fast-acting carbs. I ended up going to the E.R., but they were really no help. By 5pm, my BG stated to rise and I ended the day at about 400. I later showed my endo the BG and CGM data. We never did figure out what happened.

The one piece of advice I’d give is that sometimes you can get out of a low cycle by taking an extra 15g of fast-acting carbs. I try not to eat. all. things. but a little extra can sometimes get me out of the bouncing-flat-ball syndrome.

Thanks everyone for all of your responses. They all make a lot of sense and will help me pin point what exactly is going on. A new day today hoping I am out of the low rut. It has been very hot and humid outside the past few days so I am thinking that your idea of hot weather may be the key. I may just do a temp reduced basal if it happens again and see if that helps. Thx everyone!

Last I heard, Mercury was in trine with Saturn and Aquarius was mediating a dispute between Leo and Capricorn (you know how stubborn those two can be). The sunspots may be having an effect as well.

Then again, it could be the diabetes gremlin (see below). He likes to throw random curves at us. I think he gets entertained watching us squirm.

The person I got that image from had a very wise endo who told her, “If you can figure it out in 10 seconds or less, great. Otherwise, just correct and move on.” Of course that’s oversimplistic, especially when fighting a persistent pattern such as yours, but it expresses a philosophy that makes sense. We can make ourselves really crazy sometimes, trying too hard to analyze the unanalyzable.

Along those lines…
today’s Libra Moon nicely trines Sun in Gemini, while opposing both Uranus and Pluto in Sag.

Hey, at least Mercury isn’t yet
retro grading!

I frequently experience low days, high days and days with both, sometimes they happen in series… lately I’m high most of the time due to my bg dropping too much nearly every time I eat and having to treat it to avoid a crash.
