I admit it, I’ve had a lapse in my involvement in the diabetes community. And my A1c will show that for sure.
For those of you that have been around for a while, you might remember me for my cheeky and positive spin on life as a Type 1 diabetic. I was very active in this diabetic community, as well as other groups. But at some point this year, my interest waned. I became more interested in (dare I say) the normal, non-diabetic life. And, sadly, my control seemed to rock and roller coaster a little more than I am comfortable with.
So what happened? Simple...I got distracted. A little too much yin, and not enough yang. I would jump on Tudiabetes as a spectator, but I realize now that I need to get more involved and reconnect. It helped a lot when dealing with my own diabetes, and my current slip is certainly a reflection of my lowered involvement.
Enter Manny "El Jefe" Hernandez. TCOYD is swinging back into the San Diego Conference Center and I'll be manning the DHF booth per Manny's request, third year in a row.
Thanks for remembering me Manny, this will be the best way to get me back in touch with the community!
I miss you guys!!!
