Margaret Thatcher: What she taught us about living with diabetes

“Disciplining yourself to do what you know is right and important, although difficult, is the highroad to pride, self-esteem, and personal satisfaction.”

-Margaret Thatcher

Let’s face it: As a diabetic, discipline is difficult! But the more disciplined we become over time, the more self-esteem we develop and the easier it becomes. For us, the benefits are far greater than just pride, self-esteem, and personal satisfaction, however! We also get more life, a better life, a life that can make a difference.

I’m thankful today for Margaret Thatcher and the positive model she was as a strong woman–as a strong leader who made a tremendous and lasting impact on the world.

What do you think?

Wow what a cool quote! And so true. I'm gonna put it on my bulletin board.

Maybe we should all put it on our refrigerators! Thanks, Kathy!

glad i was able to drink my milk at school....

I know it is poor form to speak ill of the dead..

But this blog, succently shows some of the things she left us with in the UK.

its not poor form. not this time...

I agree, its not poor form this time – Thatcher was first and foremost a politician whose policies made life hell for thousands and thousands of people. I suggest in this case to go for a quote by someone not quite so controversial, maybe Tony Robbins or Bob Ross or something.
I m sure they have/had to say some wise things about discipline – how else would Ross gotten those trees to look SO realistic ;)
