Medco hell..... Anyone else fed up with Medco's services?

Last summer I received a 90 day supply of insulin (13 vials) in late July. It arrived late in the afternoon on a UPS truck. I was outside gardening and the temp was in the 90s. The package, with a cold pack was hot, not warm. Medco said it would be OK. When I used up my last vial from an earlier shipment, I started using the new shipment, which was now cold in the refrigerator. Worthless and now no insulin for my pump. Went to the doc and got a vial for free. Medco got their insulin back, of course, and they sent another shipment. They do not understand the concept of timed delivery. After all, they use a building outside Philadelphia the size of four football fields. They also distribute meds from the Las Vegas desert area. I am thankful that I do not use cardiovascular meds. I wish I could use Walgreens…

I think after the fit I pitched last week, they’ve noted my file and are scared of me.

I called this morning to finalize payment and delivery. The lady I spoke to was very nice. I should get my pack o’ goodies next week. I’ll report back on whether the insulin is chilled or not.

My last order arrived warm and I called and explained and they re-shipped with more cold packs. My insulin arrived cold but they tried to charge me for the expedited shipping. They have been good after I call but would be much better if they did it correctly the 1st time.

Have just had this exact same issue with medco over the summer. My reorder dates was 3 and a half months and I couldnt get the guy to realize if you give me a 3 month supply I need to reorder every 3 months not every 3 and a half months.
My presciption for my daughter says she tests 10 times a day thats 900 strips and they send you 9 boxes without having to split boxes. Good luck. talking to these people on the phone can give you chest pain!!

OMG. I was wrong. I woke up on Saturday to see an email in my inbox talking about my shipment was on hold. I then start getting put through the same b.s. At this point I’m livid because I was out of town and had simply planned to wake up and head down to an air show. Instead, I had to be on the phone again with these Medco people for almost 30 minutes. The first girl then took the hold off and said something about it was going to be 7 to 10 days.

I.lost.my.ever-lovin’.isht on her. I really did. I told her that was in no way acceptable since I’d been on the phone with almost 10 people trying to sort out what should be a SIMPLE order. I asked her to transfer me to a supervisor. He then puts me through the same m.o. and, I’m sorry, but I LOST it on him.

It shouldn’t take getting “I’m going to kill you” angry to get a medical prescription filled. I just checked my online account and that says it’s been shipped. I just found the page with the tracking info, but really, they bring it on themselves as it’s just a mess of bureaucracy it seems. Medco sucks.

Just an update on my phone squabbles with Medco. As promised, they mailed my medications on Monday. I got one wave of supplies on Tuesday, and I got the insulin on Wednesday. Everything was accounted for and my insulin was shipped surrounded in cold packs which were still cold by the time I wandered to the gate to get the package (long story about the temporary odd living situation I have).

Sooooooo, after all of the phone drama, it all works out. In fact, I think I’ll give the last guy I dealt with a compliment because he put up with an enraged me, but, as he promised, made sure it got shipped out on Monday.

It’s hard to believe you posted this two years ago and we are still fed up.
My physician faxed insulin and syringes prescriptions (and everything else) to Medco.
Medco held the order since I had filled the prior syringes and insulin order 1.5 months prior. Unfortunately, their release date was after i was elsewhere in the country. When I saw what was going to happen, I tried changing my address online, I spoke with the rep (after 20 minutes wait), and tho it was certainly in plenty of time for them to change the address, they didn’t - or stupidly wouldn’t. So everything for my first 3 months down south was up north. At least the insulin was cold. And I was on my own to conjure up two types of insulin and boxes of insulin through the kindness of physicians who didn’t know me.

That sucks. My shipping address is different from my insurance address, so I anticipated it too. I also told them to note it in my file that my address will probably be different and change when I’m on the road (doing the bi-coastal and travel thing here.)

I would have insisted that they reship that stuff to the address you gave them. However, yes, after my series of phone calls with them I know the simplest request can turn into a nightmare. You shouldn’t have to scavenge for supplies. That’s why you have insurance and get prescriptions.
