Meniere's, Prednisone, Insulin

I'm a new insulin user and have been working with my doctor to adjust the dose. Last week I lost hearing in my left ear and the next day had vertigo and nausea. After a visit to PCP, ER, and otolaryngolist, I have a tentative diagnosis of Meniere's syndrome.(MRI scheduled for Saturday) Yesterday I got a rx for prednisone and a diuretic. The problem is that both can cause my blood sugars to rise. My FBS this morning was 365! I know that I can adjust my insulin dose, but I'm so frustrated and overwhelmed.
Has anyone dealt with this? Any advise?
Thanks.

Steroids are definitely a problem. You should discuss this with you doctor, He might want to increase the insulin. You definitely don't want to continue with BGs in the 300 to 400 range.

Inner ear problems can be frustrating I wish you the best outcome

Thanks, Gary. I am in contact with my doctor. He has increased my insulin, yet my BGs continue to rise.
I am a teacher losing my hearing. I am a diabetic with skyrocketing BGs. I know that when I stop the Prednisone my numbers will fall, but I'm worried about the damage being done in 2 weeks.
Trying to remain calm and not panic.

As hard as it is to stay calm I feel that's a good plan at this time. Seeing those high numbers on your meter can be alarming.

As a temporary measure I would probably accept the reads but I wouldn't like it.
I hope the situation resolves itself soon, Good luck.
