i took my reading withing 15 seconds of each, once using one touch, then bayers ascensia. the first was 184. on the one touch. but the second , on the ascensia was 134… is that normal for such a big difference?
Did you wash your hands? Often times you may have touched something with sugar on it which will skew your results a lot. It is possible for your BG to spike pretty fast (within 15 min) if you ate something sweet.
While it’s correct that dirty hands can interfere with meter readings; the meters on the market today have an accuracy of +/-20%. Believe it or not, your 2 tests are within the acceptable range for accuracy.
I truly do not understand why we tolerate this as consumers of diabetic supplies.
