can anyone help?!
How do i know my mimimed CGM is fully charges, about how long should it take?
My sensor seems to last only 2 days on average and i keep having to take it off charge and replace?
Could this be a faulty Sensor?
It sounds faulty to me. I charge them for 20 minutes and get 6-7 days out of them.
What are you seeing that makes you think the Transmitter (not sensor) is faulty? I recharge mine every 3 days for 15-20 minutes. I know I could go 6 days, but its just a preference. I have heard of some faulty transmitters. It happens.
My suggestions have always been:
Recharge for 15-20 minutes every 3 days. If you are changing the sensor, this gives enough “wetting” time.
When you pull it off the base, let the green light blink and wait 1 minute.
Put it on the sensor and wait until you see the green light blinks.
I charge the transmitter every 3rd day even though I have been known to keep a sensor in place for 6-9 days depending on accurate the readings have been.
Is the transmitter lost (as in “lost sensor”)? Or is it that it loses accuracy? If the transmitter is running out of juice then it should stop communicating with your pump. In that case, try changing the battery in the charger if it isn’t new (I prefer energizer). If it’s losing accuracy, it could be sensors or the transmitter. Do you have that odd looking blue thing to plug in and test your transmitter? There should be instructions in the manual. I believe that you just plug it into the transmitter and then look on your pump to see what the ISIG is. If the ISIG is in the proper range (should be in the manual?) then the transmitter is ok and it’s probably the sensor. Tech support might be worth a call, but MMs hold times have been INSANE lately…
How old is your sensor? They officially only last 6 months. I’m on my third, and they all lasted 1.5 yr, but after about a year they start lasting less time. I also have found the 15 min charge to be totally bogus. I charge mine for 2 hr. I also find that it helps to take it off the charger and put it back on 1 min later to get it fully charged. If the light isn’t blinking it’s in trickle charge mode, if the light is blinking it seems to charge better. Doing this, I go for 6 days/sensor, only because of discomfort, the transmitter still works after 6 days.
What error are you getting? How close/far are you keeping the pump to the sensor? I find I have to keep them both on the same side of my body, within about 1 ft. Lost sensor? weak signal? I find the ‘weak signal’ errors to be bogus, other than disturbing me by beeping, I’ve never had anything come of them.
Accuracy wayy off. And i get i get the lost sensor error on the second day. My Transmitter is a little over a year old. I waited on hold with MM for 20 minutes yesterday, ill try them again when i have an hour to dedicate to this. Thanks
It may be the transmitter. My son keeps his in for 6 days at a clip and we haven’t had a problem with it losing a charge, yet. Our endo says they only last a year or so before they stop charging (like every other rechargeable battery I own!) and we’d have to get a new one. According to Minimend and the endo, if the insurance covered it the first time around, it won’t be a problem to get a replacement since a year is the expected lifespan.
