I heard this on ABC radio national in Australia the other day and found it to be quite thought provoking.
In short, the podcast is an interview with Professor Hung Nguyen who is working on a device to help monitor blood glucose levels by analysing EEG data from a patient.
I’m not sure how much trust I could put into this technology, but could see the benefits in terms of ensuring people are able to sleep at night without having concerns of hypoglycaemia.

There would be so many confounding variables when applying that technology to patients who naturally are inclined to develop cardiac and neurological abnormalities, it would be difficult to get it to measure the right thing. I regard all diabetes devices with extreme scepticism, since capitalism has an intense desire to make money by exploiting every inch of diabetes, so it is constantly inventing new and useless gadgets to sell to patients frightened by complications, who invest their hope in every magic pinwheel the diabetes industry pushes on them.
