Need to talk to someone who exercises regularly and wears an Omnipod

Hi,

I just started pumping and can only wear my omnipod on my lower back and stomach area (not arms). I’m very nervous about doing situps and ab exercises for fear that I’ll mess something up. In particular, the thought of my skin stretching, and muscles clenching right where my infusion set is makes me queasy. Any advice?

I’ve had the omni pod for a year now. I’ve only put it on my stomach once, So I’m not sure how ab workouts with that. However, i do crunches and situps all the time while my pod is lower back/hip. Why can’t you put it on your arm?? You can also place the pod on your thigh.

I have not had any problems doing ab workouts while the pod was on my stomach. I have even done pilates which requires you to be on your stomach a good bit with out problems. It does feel a bit weird though. I have not tried the arm yet but you should be able to use that area.

As a FORMER OmniPodder, I can only suggest that you DO try the Pods on your arms. If not, you’ll end up re-using your infusion sites (i.e., the places where insulin goes under your skin) and they will become poorly absorbent.
