Fyi,
I started with the omnipod (my first pump) after 20 years of MDIs, in April. I was high probably for the first five days. It has been a learning curve, and continues to be, but over all, I feel much better, way fewer lows, never waking up in the night low (which used to happen often). Hang in with the pod. Give it time.
Hi rj12. Adjusted the basil & last night was the first night I didn’t wake up with a low in a long time. Relief! Thanks.
Thank you I needed to see this!! I’m trying my best haha
Hi. I’ve used Omnipods for more than 12 years and T1 for 40+ years. Unless pod is easily visible to me on my body, it is difficult to see canula in skin thru the small window. Occassionally my insulin seems to “deposit” in scar tissue and take way longer (2 x 3 times longer) than typical to have an effect on my bg levels. Not sure how long you have had D or taking shots or pumping to know if applicable?
T.
Hi Ted k. I’ve been using insulin for 10 years. The pod seems to be working now. It was a matter of adjusting the basil dose. I Used my abdomen for injections but attach the pod to my arm because of sensitivity to the adhesive on my abdomen. I think I’m set - for now anyway. Thanks for your reply.
I’m late to the convo here, but if it helps, I haven’t checked a cannula in years. You hear the click and feel it being inserted. I never could see the things through the window.
Thanks Jim2. I was wondering because my Bg stayed high for hours. Manual said to check cannula. Turns out basil was too low. Thanks!
