Hmmm…Have been overweight and sedentary for many years…I work in IT, as a Night Operations Supervisor, working 12 hours shifts, if that tells you anything…
On 1/7/09, I went to see my doctor to get a prescription for Chantix to quit smoking…At that time my numbers were:
Height/Weight - 6’0"/275lbs
Cholesterol - 203
HDL - 40
LDL - 119
A1C - 6.3%
On Sunday, 3/22/09 I started not feeling well - Blurry vision, excessive thirst and running to the bathroom every hour…
Got in to see my Doctor on Thursday 3/26/09 and my blood sugar count was 567…
He put me on 10 Units of Humalog with meals, 500mg of Metformin with evening meal, and 10 Units of Lantus at bedtime…
Getting used to testing blood and injecting myself - feeling like a pin cushion…LOL…
Had another doctor’s appointment today - Am bouncing around in the high 200 - 300 range…
Doctor changed to 13 Units of Humalog before meals,1000mg Metformin with Evening meal, 15 Units of Lantus at bedtime, and added 15mg Actos…
I guess the GOOD thing is I am 75 days Smoke Free today!!! Wooo Hooo!!!
Am married, have 4 cats and a dog, and several grown children…

My wife and I also own our own Lawn Greetings/Yard Card Business - http://www.YardCardSurprise.com which keeps us very busy…
Looking forward to making a lot of friends here and am learning how to live the dLife - with the meds, what works and what doesn’t with carbs and exercise, etc…
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated…
