Hello all you fellow and felloweens diabetica! Long time no see at all! Well about the sugars and lows, they are about the same as for the last 50 years. Anyone hoping for complete control is in for disappointment. Something new is that my Johanna got a reading of 9 or in US language 9X18 is around 160 maybe 162 more or less. I don’t count much anymore, just leaving it to my minister of finance also called Johanna or Jo for short. This scared the H*** out of her. Did I spell that right? Hope so!
Yes we got our air conditioner installed and do we ever need it, mind you, you have to learn how to go about it. At first I turned into a popsical and had to sit in the fridge to warm up. The make? Mitsogoodshi! Not sure if that is spelled right, have not spoken Japanese for some time, never I believe! So tell me. Can Jo become a diabetic type-1 because of ther age…? What is her age? Boy you guys are not a little nosy eh? Let me say more than 70 and less than 100. I believe diabetes can be got at any age, right? About the Mitsogoodshi, it is nice to have, now the heat tries to keep us from sleeping. It is a heat pump which will give us heating in winter, even safe on the bill for electro I’m told and cooling in summer, but you are all smart enough to know that, right? It is a fact that diabetes affect only the smartest people, did you know that? Well, that’s why I tell you now, just in case you didn’t know!
I’m trying to think what to tell you next but are at a loss! Speechless it seems! Will see you again soon I hope, at my age every morning I wake up I sing a halleluja song! Not too loud because the neighbors warned me they may move if I keep on singing…like in the shower, jah…
Greeting from a long lost member of this here board. BTW, I post replies seldom when I see that many members already posted a reply. What I would say is most likely said already!
JOHNBEN or JB.
Hi JB ,
Not too lost you are …I have it in my mind , to call you one day ; likely before I turn 7-0 …stay tuned !
Did Jo use your glucometer for her test and/or is the Doctor aware already ?
My Specialist told me quite a few years ago , that she had diagnosed a lady at age 65 with type 1 …I suppose C- peptide test could qualify your question .Take care of your Dear Money Manager
Are you at about 30 degrees Celcius too ?
Well , stay cool and calm tomorrow , when ORANJE plans to beat Spain …Dutch friends are about to arrive ; we already saw them in downtown and we all will watch the next Spanish War …this one will not last 80 years , but 90 min.
Certainly type 2 diabeties is an age related condition, tho not everyone gets diabetes as they age. One reading is not enough to diagnose the condition unless it was part of her fasting blood work (done by a lab). I got a diagnosis of type one at age 45 and some medications can cause type one over time. Other than the spousal scare, your post is very funny. I had an Aunt and Uncle in their late 90’s who were always admitted together for treatment when one of them was ailling. The hospital would move their beds close together so they could hold hands. Perhaps the two of you have grown so close you are now exchanging symptoms! Good luck with your new Japanese lifestyle - we use a wood stove in the winter and open windows in the summer.
Johnben,
I became Type 1 after 70 and before 100. Not being uncommon any more.
Hello Johnben:
Always Good to hear from you. I’m Glad that you are still doing okay and keeping cool. Thanks for the many chuckles. Ah poo! Let the Neighbour move. I’m sure that your singing(especially Alleluia) is just Fine. Have a Great day!
Johnben,
You have to continue posting to keep your post on page 1, remember? Ah, I said, remember? What have you done for the last 5 days?
How is Jo? From this money manager to her, give her my love.
I wonder if we had an allergic reaction to money, developed an autoimmunity to its dyes, and …
I’m still less than 100, but way above that 70, so tell her it isn’t anywhere near the end. Keep cool.
Thank you all for your replies. Many between 70-100. Goody!. Jo is back to normal blood sugar wise. Never told you this but she is my minister of finance. She gives me a five dollar bill every week to spend as I want! I save of that too. Isn’t this amazing? I will put in for an increase to $5.50. Times are tough you know!
JB.
Glad she’s ok. Treat your minister of finance well.
