Hi guys,
First of all, I apologise in advance for the insane number of questions I am about to post!
I am a type 1 diabetic living in Melbourne, Australia. I am really keen to get some Afrezza - it's not available in Australia yet. Can anyone provide me some info on the best/cheapest way for me to get my hands on it?
According to this site it looks like 1 month's worth will set me back around $250. As an Australian I don't have US health coverage, Is there anyway I can make this cheaper? Does anyone know the best way to get access to this in an ongoing way, should I look at mail forwarding options?
If anyone has any ideas on how I might be able to get Afrezza without flying there... that would be awesome, as it would save me around $1000. However, if needs be i'll fly over to get it. This raises another point... How does a foreigner get a prescription filled in the US? I can get my local endo to do the spirometry test and also write notes/get a referral to a doctor over there. Can I buy a year's supply at once and bring it back?
Also worth pointing out that I have already contact Sanofi in Australia with no luck.
I am determined to get onboard the Afrezza bandwagon and really don't want to have to wait until it gets rolled out here.... Which may not be for quite a while, if ever!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
Matt
